Reference 5004 was Patek Philippe's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph with a split-seconds rattrapante function, a combination the manufacture had previously built only as one-off commissions between 1955 and 1989. Introduced in 1994, it ran the manually wound Caliber CHR 27-70 Q, a descendant of the Lemania 2310 rebuilt in-house to add the perpetual calendar and rattrapante works.
