Unveiled in 1993, with a platinum version following a year later, the 3939 was Patek Philippe's first serially produced wristwatch to combine a minute repeater with a tourbillon, fitted into a case just 33mm across. Patek kept it in the catalogue until 2009, with total output across all four metals staying under 200 pieces, only a couple dozen of them in platinum. Its retirement in 2009 was followed almost immediately by the near-identical 5339.
