One of the last two hand-wound Daytonas Rolex built with pump pushers. It is mechanically the same watch as the 6262 sold alongside it — the only difference is the bezel, black acrylic with a tachymeter scale on the 6264 against an engraved metal one on the 6262. Both were short-lived: Rolex soon moved the chronograph line to the screw-down-pusher Oyster cases of the 6263 and 6265, which then ran for seventeen years.

- The 6264 was fitted with pump pushers. Screw-down pushers belong to the later references 6263 and 6265.
- Its case is not an Oyster case, so 6264 dials read 'Cosmograph' without the word 'Oyster'.
- The bezel is a black acrylic insert. The otherwise-identical reference with an engraved metal tachymeter bezel is the 6262.
