The perpetual calendar mechanism is Kurt Klaus's, designed in the 1980s and notable for what it does not have: no correctors, no recessed pushers, no separate tools. Every indication advances from the crown alone, which means an owner can reset the watch after it stops without sending it anywhere. The double moonphase shows the moon as seen from each hemisphere.
- Klaus's moonphase gearing deviates from the true lunation by roughly one day in 577 years.
- The calendar is mechanically programmed through 2499, including the century leap-year exceptions.
- The design has no case-side correctors. A Klaus perpetual is set entirely through the crown.
Before you ask.
When was the IWC Schaffhausen IW5021 produced?
The IW5021 was produced from 2003 to 2015.

The IWC Schaffhausen IW5021 runs the Cal. 51614, an automatic movement.
How do I check a IWC Schaffhausen IW5021 with Watch Safe?
Look up the watch's serial number in the Watch Safe registry to see whether a record exists or a theft flag is attached. A registry search identifies records for a specific serial; it does not authenticate the watch. Authentication is performed in person by an independent expert authenticator, and Watch Safe records and publishes the result.
