The Portugieser Chronograph moved to IWC's own calibre 69355 here, replacing the modified Valjoux the 3714 had run for twenty years. The 69355 is a column-wheel chronograph, and the change brought a display caseback with it — the older reference had shown nothing.
- The 3714 it replaced used a 7750-derived movement, which is why that reference has a closed back.

How do I check a IWC Schaffhausen IW3716 with Watch Safe?
Look up the watch's serial number in the Watch Safe registry to see whether a record exists or a theft flag is attached. A registry search identifies records for a specific serial; it does not authenticate the watch. Authentication is performed in person by an independent expert authenticator, and Watch Safe records and publishes the result.
