Patek Philippe introduced the 5960P in 2006 to launch the caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, its first self-winding chronograph movement designed and built entirely in-house rather than adapted from an outside supplier. The 5960P-001 paired that flyback chronograph with an annual calendar for the first time in a Patek Philippe wristwatch, reading elapsed hours and minutes off a single combined subdial at six o'clock instead of the usual two separate registers. The platinum grey-dial -001 ran until 2013, when pink gold and additional dial colors extended the line.
