The direct successor to Patek Philippe's original double-crown world timer, produced 1953-1960 in extremely limited numbers, roughly 20 pieces across two series. Where the 2523 wore faceted, raised lugs and enamel or guilloché dials, the 2523/1's first series introduced lower, facet-less lugs with a plain silvered dial, and its second series brought faceted lugs back paired with a silvered guilloché dial and metallic city ring. All cases, at an oversized 36mm for the era, were made by the Geneva casemaker Antoine Gerlach, and the watch carries the same Louis Cottier double-ring world-time mechanism as the 2523.
