Emmanuel Gueit's 1993 reinterpretation at 42mm and 14mm thick, when the Royal Oak itself was 39mm and slim. Genta was reportedly furious. The trade called it 'The Beast', and it created the oversized luxury sports watch as a genre that most of the industry then spent fifteen years copying.
