Audemars Piguet's attempt at a round watch that is not a Royal Oak, launched in 2019 to a difficult reception and revised steadily since. The construction is the interesting part: an octagonal middle case held between a round bezel and caseback, with a doubly curved crystal that is genuinely hard to make. The name encodes the minute before midnight — the point of the argument being that the maker did not want to be defined by one 1972 design.
