Quickset Date
A date mechanism that lets the wearer advance the date directly from a crown position, without cycling the hands through a full day.

Whether a reference has quickset, and which generation introduced it, is documented per model line, so the function itself is an era check. A watch whose date will not quickset when its reference should, or vice versa, may carry a swapped movement. Function tests like this take seconds in hand and are impossible from listing photographs.
