A printed or applied ring on the dial marking minutes or a railroad-style track, sometimes also carrying a tachymeter or telemeter scale.
Chapter ring typography, spacing, and finish are reference-specific details that a redial or a low-quality counterfeit frequently gets wrong, whether in font weight, alignment, or printing crispness. It's one of several dial elements worth comparing against verified genuine photography of the same reference.
