Where Grand Seiko keeps the designs descended from its own 1960s watches, including the 44GS of 1967 whose grammar — flat, wide, distortion-free surfaces meeting at sharp edges, no curved facets — became the rule the brand still designs to. That grammar exists to show Zaratsu polishing, which only reads as exceptional on a large uninterrupted plane.
