The calibre number is the joke worth catching: Cartier called it 1917 MC, after the year Louis Cartier drew the Tank. This is the hand-wound medium in rose gold, which is the configuration closest to the original — a Tank was never meant to be a large watch, and the case is longer than it is wide because the brancards down each side are the tank treads.
