Breitling · Navitimer
Known in the trade as the Navitimer.
The Navitimer's rotating slide rule bezel lets a pilot compute fuel burn, climb rate and unit conversions in flight without any electronics. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association adopted it as its official watch in 1954, which is why early dials carry the AOPA wings rather than the Breitling name.
The 806 was produced from 1954 to 1970.
The Breitling 806 runs the Venus 178, a manual movement.
Look up the watch's serial number in the Watch Safe registry to see whether a record exists or a theft flag is attached. A registry search identifies records for a specific serial; it does not authenticate the watch. Authentication is performed in person by an independent expert authenticator, and Watch Safe records and publishes the result.
