The Tourbillon "Pour le Mérite" was one of the four references A. Lange & Söhne showed in 1994 to announce the company's post-reunification relaunch, and the first wristwatch ever built with a fusée-and-chain constant-force transmission, predating the Richard Lange line by 17 years. Its 636-part chain and one-minute tourbillon set the technical direction Lange has returned to in every "Pour le Mérite" reference since. The yellow gold version was one of 106 built between 1994 and 1998, part of a 150-piece run.
