A. Lange & Söhne · Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite"
A fusée-and-chain transmission in a wristwatch. A chain of more than six hundred parts links the barrel to a cone-shaped fusée, and as the mainspring weakens the chain works along the cone's widening radius, so torque at the escapement stays constant. It is an eighteenth-century marine chronometer solution shrunk to the wrist. "Pour le Mérite" is reserved for Lange references carrying it.
The A. Lange & Söhne 260.025 runs the L044.1, a manual movement.
Look up the watch's serial number in the Watch Safe registry to see whether a record exists or a theft flag is attached. A registry search identifies records for a specific serial; it does not authenticate the watch. Authentication is performed in person by an independent expert authenticator, and Watch Safe records and publishes the result.
