In 2003, Lange released a genuine curiosity: a paired set of astronomical Lange 1s, one for each hemisphere's night sky. "Luna Mundi Ursa Major," ref 119.026, came in white gold and depicted the Big Dipper at 12 o'clock for the northern sky; its rose gold sibling, "Southern Cross," showed the constellation visible from the southern hemisphere. Only 101 sets were made, each numbered.
Key dates.
- "Luna Mundi" pair released as a 101-set limited edition
- The 119.026 half of the pair shows the Ursa Major constellation for the northern hemisphere; the rose gold companion piece, ref 119.032, shows the Southern Cross instead.
- Caliber L901.8's moon-phase accuracy is rated to drift one day roughly every 122.6 years of continuous running.
