Cyclops

The small magnifying lens set into the crystal over the date window, most associated with Rolex, that enlarges the date for legibility.

Why it matters for authentication

A genuine cyclops magnifies by a specific, consistent factor and sits precisely centered over the date window; counterfeits commonly get the magnification power, centering, or crystal dome shape wrong. Rolex's own no-date models never carry one, so a cyclops on a reference that shouldn't have a date window is an immediate inconsistency.
