The original presentation box and accompanying documents, such as the warranty card and manuals, that came with the watch when new.
Box and papers support a watch's story but are not proof on their own, since paperwork can be separated from its original watch and paired with a different one. Authenticators treat box and papers as supporting evidence to be checked against the watch's actual serial and reference, not as a substitute for physical examination.
