Bezel Insert

The colored ring set into a rotating bezel, traditionally aluminum and more recently ceramic, marking elapsed time on dive and tool watches.

Why this detail matters.

Insert material, font, and color are reference- and era-specific, so an insert that doesn't match what a given reference should carry, whether in material, printing style, or proportions, is inconsistent with a genuine configuration. Replaced inserts are common and not inherently fraudulent, but they should be identified rather than assumed original.
