GV is glace verte — green glass. The tint runs through the whole sapphire rather than sitting on it as a coating, and no other Rolex has ever been sold with a green crystal. It arrived with the Milgauss revival in 2007, gained the electric blue 'Z-Blue' dial in 2014, and ended when Rolex discontinued the Milgauss in 2023.
