Master Control

Named after a test rather than a design. From 1992 Jaeger-LeCoultre subjected these watches to what it calls the 1,000 Hours Control — roughly six weeks of running the finished, cased-up watch through position, temperature, humidity and shock checks, rather than certifying the bare movement and trusting the assembly. The name is a claim about process, and the plain three-hand dials are deliberate: there is nothing to distract from whether it keeps time.
